life and love
are rarely
if ever
clean
neat
or tidy
they can often be more
like battles to be won
or lost
fraught with pot holes
and unexpected wounds
or rays of sunshine
when you least expect it
both are earthy
physical
no one
no matter what they say
can separate mind from body
and addictions
are merely bandaids
for a few hours
or a lifetime of running away
we all live in personal bubbles
believing and seeing
what we wish to
or have been taught to
believe and see
one size
does not fit all
or even a few
some are good at accepting
whatever comes their way
never fighting back
or standing up for themselves
they believe life is easier that way
and it is
for those around the person
but respect
for self
or from others
doesn't often come with that choice
and it's never easier
unless one believes giving up everything
for others
is a gift
and there are those
who fight everything
their armor
doesn't show
but you can see it in their eyes
in their scars
and in their attitude
everything is a battle
sometimes to the death
they usually don't care if they
fight alone
but they know there's strength
in numbers
there are evil people
and hateful people
mean people
and vindictive people
dangerous people
and deadly people
there are also
kind people
but
trust
is a thing of the past
with AI
nothing is real
we are lied to
at every turn
but here's the thing
more often than not
our beat up hearts
just keep going
we get trampled
kicked around
then we get back up
to do it all again
but now
we're in a fight
for our lives
against
those who would
destroy us
time to wake up
time to join forces
time to tell our hearts
that they better be ready
for
anything
because this time
1984
will look like a dream
come true
if the bad guys
get their way
