Once you start doing embroidery, after a while you will soon want to do more that just stitch designs included with the machine, or stitch purchased designs as they are. To be able to manipulate and create your own designs, you will need an embroidery software program. There are many options available on the market and one of them is Artistic Digitizer, Janome's own software, which is being offered as a FREE TRIAL for the month of April, 2024!
After the free trial, you can purchase the software from your Janome Canada dealer at a special limited time promotional price. There are two versions of Artistic Digitizer available, the Junior version, which is available with some machines, like the Janome Continental M17, and the Full version, which allows you to do MORE!
If you decide on the Full version, your Janome Canada dealer may offer it as a bundle with the Junior version and the Upgrade together to equal the Full version. You will need to install the Junior version first and then the Upgrade to equal the Full version. It's basically two quick steps instead of one, but it achieves the same end result - the Full version of Artistic Digitizer. The video below shows how the two cases are bundled together.
The software comes on a CD, but don't worry if you computer doesn't have a CD Rom player, you can use an external player like the one below, which can be purchased inexpensively from the office supply store.
Or, you can download the software directly from the Janome Global website choosing between MAC or Windows operating systems. You will use the serial number and activation code included in the CD cases.

Once the software is downloaded, you can move it to your Application folder if using a MAC to finish the installation. With Windows, you'll see it in the Downloads folder.
Once installed to your computer, the software is with all your other applications. Click on the Artistic Digitizer icon to open it. You need to input the serial number and the activation code found inside the software box and click Activate.
Close the Software Key Login window and Accept the user agreement, as shown below.
Next, you will Register the software under your name to be able to receive all necessary help, including information about future updates as they become available. You will never outgrow this software!
This box doesn't contain a CD as all you need is the Upgrade code to access the Full version of the software.
From the Help menu at the top of the screen, select the Key Upgrade option. The Key Upgrade dialog will appear and you can input your special code and click Upgrade.
And that is it! Very simple to install and you are now ready to explore this software and create amazing designs, or edit existing designs however you wish!
