Humor must stay alive. I hope to make light of topics that I find imbecilic such as racism and point towards real topics that I believe could potentially help society as well as individuals in an assortment of ways.
I believe much of the reason suicide occurs is because people cannot forgive themselves or they simply see no way out of the situation they are in. Substance use, both legal and illegal are also obvious reasons people take the leap of the lack of faith. I would argue that medical doctors are actually at fault as often as alcohol for this radical lifeless choice. Tampering with brain chemistry and manipulating individuals so that they believe they are unable to handle life choices is a brilliant trick to play on the vulnerable. We have outsourced our intellect and belief systems to the scientific community while also creating a system that depletes our mental, physical and emotional health. Stop identifying with mental illness and start working on yourself. Be careful using substances to get yourself out of the pit of hell because it could become the very thing that holds you down there.
Places like Canada are legalizing suicide for typically fixable issues like depression and anxiety. Breathing exercises work temporarily with helping anxiety, hints the joke, "inward." Physical training can change the state of depression as well. Fear and anxiety are also treatable with exposure therapy which means to forcibly put yourself into situations that you fear and/or reminiscing on the thoughts that create the anxiety in the first place. Sleep is a vital function of good mental health. If you are having trouble sleeping, more substances are not the answer. Perhaps nutrient deficiencies such as magnesium or folate are the cause. Lastly, in support of the this last point, diet and hydration work. When you starve your body of the basics or it is out of balance, things go wrong. It's that simple.
The fact is, often times people feeling anxious or depressed are actually in a shitty situation and are just experiencing raw feelings. On rare occasions there is brain damage that does need specific types of support. Feelings aren't facts but they are as real as you make them out to be. Feel those feelings for sure, but don't get lost in the past. Fools do have no luck so when making bad choices, it's only natural to regret. The secret is to forgive yourself and move on. I came across somewhere that depression is actually an extrapolation of selfishness because it is an obsession of oneself. Gratitude is a great counter when the mind starts looking back at its' self deprivation. The world is a big place. It's incredible what happens when you do good for others. It's almost selfish to help others on account of the good feelings one gets after being a Good Samaritan.
Since the creation of moral relativism, people ignore the cause and effect of their choices because they think they can make sense of the sin/bad actions. Even though we have known the difference between good from evil for at least 2 thousand years, people think that they can create their own moral structure. Be careful pursuing the luciferian knowledge because it won't create happiness. It will create ignorance to what is simple. Breathe, Eat, Sleep, and be Human.
Disclaimer: I'm not suicidal. I'm also not depressed like I used to be. The more I focus on my higher power, being nice to my body, and doing good, the less I deal with those bad feelings.
