I love pigeons
some people
hate them
even though
pigeons worked hard
for people
during the war
once they were no longer needed
they suddenly became
a nuisance
and are now called
terrible names
like flying rats
pigeons are not
appreciated for their
gorgeous feathers
and the fact that
each one of them
is an amazing work of art
while they can be messy
they aren't killing
the environment
or each other
they aren't
poisoning
or throwing garbage
into the oceans
they don't use plastic
or cut down forests
or start wars
or manufacture guns
pigeons aren't violent
but humans seem to
say bad things about
everyone
but
themselves
when humans
are the
truly
the bad ones
who are
destroying
everything
while all the pigeons
want to do
is sit on a windowsill
or beg for food
from people
in the park
