Peach Garden Heeren

Since Peach Garden Miramar shifted to a new location in Heeren, we decided to pop by for dim sum and lunch to check on their new location and promotion

Located on the 5th floor of the Heeren building, you can reach the restaurant by taking the lift within Courts on the ground floor. The moment you exit the lift lobby, you can see the entrance of the restaurant as well as various tables set up to host customers if the tables inside are fully taken up

The restaurant's interior is like a private ballroom with crystal chandeliers and plush carpeting. There are no windows as those are reserved for the private rooms. At one glance, the space can sit up to 20 tables of guests ( excluding the private rooms) as each table is nicely spaced out from one another. Guests can choose to sit outside which has slightly less privacy from other shoppers walking past but the restaurant did decorate the place with potted plants and dividers to segregate the area from the public walking spaces

Firstly, we started with their steamed dim sum where they have the usual steamed buns and shrimp dumplings. The quality and taste are similar to their other outlets and while they taste nice, there is nothing too outstanding except for the spicy vinaigrette dumplings which we ordered a 2nd order. You can read my reviews on other Peach Garden outlets when you search for Peach Garden on the main page

The fried dim sum items are done nicely and are much more popular with children as you can tell most of the items were snatched up the moment they were served. In particular, the fried banana mango roll was refreshing and sweet while the carrot cake had a nice pan-fried skin and soft creamy texture

We also ordered half a Peking duck which was sliced and wrapped nicely for us and the remaining meat chopped up and served with sour plum sauce as a dip. The duck skin was crispy with minimal fats which was delicious with the egg crepe and sweet sauce. The duck meat was also succulent and roasted well with a nice charred flavour infused into the meat

As a fan of eggplant, I could not resist ordering the deep-fried eggplant with salted egg yolk which was done perfectly with a light yet crispy batter which is coated evenly with the salted egg yolk sauce. The eggplant remained soft and juicy inside the batter so the dish was not too dry. We also ordered the fried rice vermicelli ( mee sua) for my mum as she loved noodles. The noodles came with chunks of shrimp, onions, and beansprouts which gave the noodles a nice texture when eaten all together. The noodles were quite dry and not oily so it is better to eat them with some chilli sauce or sambal

Overall, the food at Peach Garden is pretty similar across outlets. The atmosphere here reminds me of the outlet at the OCBC building which is slightly more classy and high-end compared to other outlets which are more traditionally Chinese in decorations. In terms of pricing, the dishes are also slightly more expensive due to the better plating and change in more premium ingredients
