"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
(Matthew 24:36 (NIV))
We are told that we can recognize the season, but have you truly thought about why no one knows the day or hour?
I realize that there are probably many reasons for this, the biggest of which is that it is on God's timing.
I saw something today that made me stop cold!
I am sure that you have heard about the two solar eclipses that will mark an "X" over the United States. The first solar eclipse occurred on August 21, 2017 and the next solar eclipse will happen on April 8, 2024. In ancient Hebrew, what we know as an "X" was the letter tav. The modern Hebrew no longer looks like an "X," but we need to look at this based on the original Hebrew. The meaning of the letter tav is "mark of completion." When you consider this in relation to the following passage, it will make you stop and reflect.
And God said, "Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,
(Genesis 1:14 (NIV))
Now, on to the thought that made me stop cold. God's calendar is different than anything that we use today. Even the current Hebraic calendar is not in sync with the Hebraic calendar from the Old Testament. Could it be that a point of discussion as to why no one knows the day or hour is because we are all working off of a different calendar than God is using? I realize that there is more to this than this quick postulation, but I prayerfully believe that this is part of the reason. Just as our languages were confused at the tower of Babel, I believe that our calendars have been confused as well.
I may be wrong, and I will admit that I do not know, but I do know one thing. God is unfolding His plan according to His time, His calendar, and we must be prepared. When we are about to witness the marking of the United States, and the world, with a symbol whose meaning is the mark of completion, you can rest assured that I will be lifting my head.
"There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."
(Luke 21:25-28 (NIV))
I realize that the things spoken of in Luke are open to discussion as to when they are happening, but we must not discuss so much that we miss the most important aspect!
We are to be looking for Jesus!
We are to live our lives in such a manner that we will be ready for His return at any moment.
We must be perpetually prepared.
Are you perpetually prepared?
