With the demise of the Allotment Federation and Wilko's, it's severely limited local options to buy seeds. I am loathe to go to B&Q as they are really expensive and only have the usual selection of seed varieties. However, on a recent visit to my parents, we ended up wandering around a garden centre which had an eye watering selection of seeds and seed potatoes.
Blowing the annual seed budget was complete within 20 minutes and I carted my haul back to my parent's house feeling rather smug. Pride comes before a fall as the saying goes, and so it proved. We were an hour into the drive back home when I received a call from my dad informing me they had just discovered all my seeds in the porch. Apparently, I had breezed past them as I left, more concerned that I had remembered to pack my phone charger and toothbrush than the equally vital box of seeds.
Fortunately, my dad was able to parcel them up and post them up to Crewe. After a long day at work, I came home to the box on the doorstep. Whilst I was disappointed that I had forgotten to bring them home, it was lovely opening up the box and rediscovering them again. Granted, we do need to get some other seeds (broccoli, onions, garlic and wildflowers to name a few).
Sadly, I think I will have to resort to buying the rest of the seeds online...
