Be Still . . .
Devotionals for Daily Living ©
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
(2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV))
Have you accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior?
If you profess a "Yes" as your answer, then I have another question for you.
Why are you still timid in your faith?
We have been given the ultimate gift, and we should be bold in sharing that gift with all that we see. This passage does not say that God gave the Spirit to some. It does not say that He gave us a desire to hide. It does not say that He gave us a spirit of fear.
God gave us a spirit of power, love and self-discipline!
We should never be timid, for we have nothing to fear!
We, as followers of Jesus, are more than conquerors!
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
(Romans 8:31 (NIV))
In these uncertain times, we must be bold in our faith. We must proclaim the name of Jesus to all who will listen. We don't know when the Lord will come for His church, so we must be about His business until He returns. We must be like the persistent widow. We must never give up. We must not be timid with what we know to be true.
And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"
(Luke 18:7-8 (NIV))
Are you living in His power, love and self-discipline?
