This week's memory verse: Isaiah 41:10.
Well, good morning, my peeps. I hope you're well. I'm feeling the beginnings of a sinus issue. Kind of woozy, kind of dizzy, off balance. I have sinus spray, though. That's gonna help a lot. Our forecast for today: 50°, plenty of sunshine, no rain, winds are from the west at 4 miles per hour, and humidity is sitting at 76%.
Well, the Thanksgiving and Christmas season are over. The new year has begun. We're inching closer to January 6th, the day of Epiphany, the day we take the Christmas tree down. Which reminds me. I need to feed the tree.
I got Gracie's bowl and fountain cleaned yesterday and changed the filters in the fountain. I noticed that the wire cover for the pump is getting a little aged looking. I may order a replacement pump just in case.
I was doing something in my room yesterday, I don't remember what, but I happened to look down at the mouse trap that I hadn't cleaned out yet from Mr. Mouse the 2nd, and Mr. Mouse the 3rd was in there! He had to have been in there a a day or two. When I let him out outside, he was a little disoriented and soaking wet. Not sure if it was sweat or urine. There was quite a bit of poo in the trap, too, poor thing. He sat there for a while and munched on some grass. I made sure he was coming around before I went back in the house.
Sweet little thing. Smallest of the three, and dark charcoal gray like the first one. Cute, but destructive. That's why they need to be outside. They can munch grass all day long. Not books or important papers.
I'm considering making the memory verse of the week the memory verse of the month. Would that be okay with y'all? I think I may do that.
Today's agenda will be short: ledgers, pay a few bills, and if I have time, some laundry. Mom has a medical appointment at 3:00 today, so we'll have to be on the road around 2:15. I may take my knitting with me and stay in the car while she goes in.
The greenhouse is doing well. I have yet to go out and turn the heat off. Pop moved the lemon tree in the back corner next to the blossoming one yesterday. The peas have more flowers. The cucumber has at least three flowers. The lima beans never sprouted. The bok choy is a bit stunted, but it's there. The tomatoes are rich with clusters of buds.
I may plant some lettuce out there at some point in the future.
Dinner yesterday was halfway decent. I made kielbasa, sauerkraut, blackeyed peas, cornbread, and steamed brussel sprouts with butter and bacon. Somehow, I failed to realize that sauerkraut and brussel sprouts are both forms of cabbage. One is fermented and the other is in regular form. I told Mom last night that I could be my own fuel station. A bit stinky, but I've got enough gas to last for a while. Too bad we had leftovers and now we'll be going round two with it tonight. Ha ha. That's okay. There's not really enough for all three of us, so I'll make some stroganoff to offset things.
Other things I need to do are go through our food storage and see what needs to be used this month. I'll put that in the container I've marked for that and that'll help me out with menu planning.
That's about all I have for today, peeps. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends. ❤
