Let me begin by thanking you for reading, commenting and staying with me throughout 2023.

Let's also take a look at the all-important numbers:

I wrote 246 posts, totaling 32,152 words.

There were 1,326 comments and 1,115 likes.

There are 480 followers, although I suspect that many of these may not be genuine.

Throughout 2023, one thing continued to remain clear; I wrote for me, and for me alone. That you, a reader, may have found something of interest has always been a bonus.

And what of This West London Life's content? It was both the same and different to previous years:

Making a welcome reappearance were posts about overseas travel - New York City, Canada and Düsseldorf.

But having looked back, what about looking forward?

Firstly, I am going to continue blogging on This West London Life and I hope you'll continue to read what I've written and engage with me.

Secondly, some regulars are being retired: Wit or Wisdom (the original chalkboard is no more after another change of management) and Month in Numbers (December 2023 will be the last one).

Thirdly, I am going to be blogging less. This is for a number of reasons: commitments in my real-world life are changing, The Boy is older and now has the veto on what I share about him and, to put it simply, I've decided to pull back from all forms of social media.

I hope that you will continue to drop in throughout 2024 and if not, thank you for all the times that you did.
