Today's Bible Reading- Revelation Chapters 19-22.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. Our forecast for today: 49°, sunny, winds from the west southwest 10-13 miles per hour, and humidity is sitting at 89%. I got that from a different weather source today.
Well, it's the end of 2023. Almost. We still have one more day to go, Lord willing, but as far as blog posts go, this is it. I won't be writing again until Monday, which will be the first day of 2024, Lord willing.
Speaking of 2024, I would like to give you some spiritual prep tools. I think we're going to need to be spiritually strong to get through this next year. The spiritual warfare is going to be off the charts the closer we get to the end.
First off, e-Sword. It's a free download to your computer, but it does cost to get it on your phone or tablet. For the iPad, it's $5.99, and for the iPhone it's $3.99. I'll be using that to read the ISV this coming year. Click here for that tool.
Second, Scripture memorization. Fighter Verses is an app you can purchase to put on your tablet or phone. I don't remember the cost, but I was pretty broke when I bought it, so it couldn't have been more than a dollar or two. The logo is red with a shield and a cross on it. The more we can memorize, the better we'll be able to fight.
Third, a Bible reading plan. There are tons out there. Daily Scripture reading is a must, though. If I don't have my daily time with Jesus, let me tell ya. I'm one of the crankiest people you'll ever meet. The One Year Bible has a daily reading plan. I don't know if e-Sword has it. The one I use is from Wisdom International. You can click here to get to their website. Their reading plan gives Sunday off, and I use that one to keep it in line with my blog posts. It can be a bit much at times, but it's worth it. Look for the reading plan under the Daily Teaching tab near the top of the screen. One caveat, sometimes they have typos in the reading plan. Last year, a couple of chapters were left out. I wrote the correct chapters on the blog here, but just be aware that a human makes the plan, so there's potential for mistakes.
Okay, spiritual things aside, this next year I'd also like to work on my health. Between gallstones and my weight, this year hasn't been easy. I want to focus more on healthy food. Eat as much fresh fruits and veggies as possible. I'd also like to be more serious about my garden. Really take advantage of the greenhouse and plant delicious and seasonal things. I only have four grow beds, so if I can group things together, I'd like to do that.
I also want to be more serious about intermittent fasting. I did download an app that's supposed to help me out. There are in-app purchases available, but I'm just using the free version. It's called Fastic. It's funny. I have it set to give me reminders, and sometimes the things it says to me to get me to drink water are hilarious. For instance, one time it said, You aren't a cactus! Make sure you're hydrating!
Another goal for this next year, Lord willing, I'd like to declutter my room. When I moved back in way back in 2010, I hadn't planned on staying. Here I am, though, almost 14 years later. God's got me here for a reason. I think that reason is to help Mom. She'd be up a creek without a paddle if I weren't here. I have a one bedroom apartment stuffed into one bedroom, so I'd like to whittle things down to essentials. Maybe turn my closet into a craft space. That'd be nice. I have a lot of things I can get rid of.
That's all I have for now, peeps. I know it's a lot, but it's goals for the coming year. I don't know if I'll make all my goals, but I'm going to give it the ol' college try. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends. Happy New Year! ❤
