Today's Bible Reading- Luke Chapters 16-18.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. Our forecast for today: 61° (it's currently 29° with a real feel of 27°), no rain, sunshine, moderate air quality, winds are from the northeast at 3 miles per hour, and humidity is sitting at 86%.
It's a chilly one out there this morning, peeps. Brr. I'm thankful for the heater. Our furnace hasn't kicked in yet, but we have little heaters around the house. One in the living room, one in my parents' bedroom, and one in my room.
I made chili yesterday for supper. It was decent. Too much cumin, but with a few ingredient tweaks, it'd be a recipe to keep. Mom enjoyed it. She had three small bowls. Pop didn't care for it. It wasn't his recipe. The recipe he used when he was staying in the RV has all kinds of stuff in it. Even cocoa powder! Mine was pretty basic. He didn't care about the beans, either. I used dried pintos, and they still had a little snap to them. Mom loved them like that, but Pop didn't.
I had enough left for a small meal, so I put it in the freezer. The next time I use it, I'll add some garlic as it's warming up. It definitely needs garlic. As for the cornbread, that was delicious. I used a box mix. It'd be good smooshed up with a little milk added. I used to do that when I was a kid. Graham crackers are good that way , too.
Supper tonight will be fried chicken, yellow rice with peas, and salad.
Gracie is bundled up in front of the heater. I'm not sure why the furnace hasn't kicked in yet. I hope it hasn't given up the ghost.
So, what am I thankful for today? Hot coffee of which I need a refill. I didn't get cold last night and I didn't get hot either. I slept straight through the night. I woke up once because all my weight was bearing down on my right knee and it was screaming. I'm thankful the lemon trees are in the greenhouse. I'm thankful that it's Friday. I'm thankful for the Lizzi-do list that I can work on. I may take one of those things and work on it tomorrow. I'm thankful for the Roma sprouts in the indoor garden and for the cucumber plant that's beginning to sprout.
On the agenda for today: ledgers, possibly a trip to the bank, and I need to get Thelma her dry food. I didn't do that yesterday. Nor did I get Gracie's fountain cleaned. That chili took almost the entire day to deal with. That's my agenda today, Lord willing.
That's all for now, peeps. I need to get around, get more coffee, and get my day started. Love you all and until next time, stay safe and warm my friends. ❤
