Starbucks customers love the brand's bags. Their latest tote is no exception
Coffee drinkers who go to Starbucks for their caffeine fix know that there is more than just their usual grande latte to grab. There are the non-foods, too. In fact, Starbucks's merchandise, such as thermos flasks and reusable tumblers, and, at this time of the year, leather-bound planners (for 2024, by The Paper Bunny) are important revenue streams for the coffee chain. In the course of the year, there are some drops, too, of fashion goods. And the bags have been especially popular. The latest, a tote, is possibly the fastest-moving by far. Just days after Starbucks announced the launch of the bag, the black (off-white is the other colour option) is sold out at most stores.
In a east-west orientation, the tote is surprising of a good size, both for men and women. And capacious enough to store whatever you need for school or work. There are also unusually more pockets than what one would expect from a coffeeshop-branded bag: six, three inside and three out. One interior pocket is placed on one of the narrow sides, which is ideal for a bottle of water or umbrella. On the exterior, there are two side pockets too, which would come in handy when you need to buy yourself and a loved one a drink each, and dedicated space in your bag for the cups is preferred. Despite the clearly appealing storage options, one aspect is less so. The bag is made of relatively lightweight cotton canvas, rather than the studier tightly woven duck canvas. Regardless, the Starbucks tote is a practicable carryall.
