Long time readers will know that I am partially to a blue plaque. London's oldest surviving blue plaque can be found at 1, King Street in St. James's; it commemorates Napoleon III having lived there in 1848, after he was exiled to Britain following the Battle of Waterloo.
The Royal Society of Arts ran the plaque scheme for 35 years from 1866. The Society put up 35 plaques in that time and roughly half of them survive to this day.
