ARC Book Review:

The book is very simple in terms of what is here: very easy short chapters, a day by day meal plan, a few extra recipes to add variety, and then an exercise plan that amounts to walking 10,000 steps a day and a suggestion to do some resistance training. Nothing is really in detail here and I think the goal of the book is to keep from overloading readers who are likely already suffering from cardio vascular disease. As the author notes, he also had a heart attack and that is what prompted him to change his own diet. The diet includes eggs, yogurt, salmon, anchovies/herring, cottage cheese, and other animal products. The author lists his own meals that includes 2 egg whites and 1 egg yolk in the morning but then makes the recommendation that readers only eat 1 egg per day. This felt somewhat contradictory and it was interesting to note that he eats animal products at every meal. He believes that animal proteins are filling/satiating and so thinks it is important to keep them in a diet despite their cholesterol and saturated fat. He just wants everyone to avoid red meats except for game/wild animals and cut down on chicken.
