Today's Bible Reading- Jeremiah Chapters 23-29.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. Here's our forecast for today: 87°, sunny, no rain, good air quality yet we have a heavy smoke hazard. Make that make sense. Also, winds are coming from the north northeast at 6 miles per hour and humidity is sitting at 86%.
Well. . .I pulled this post out of my draft pile this morning. I had a post half written yesterday morning, but I had to leave for a meeting. I'd intended on finishing it when I got home, but you know how that goes.
So, late Thursday afternoon I got a text from a former officer of our local Republican party. A bunch of precinct committeemen were wanting to meet to discuss issues they have with the new chair. At least, that's what I was led to believe. Now, I like our new chair. He's bringing us back to the basics and he's a strong constitutionalist. He's also a former state representative, so he knows the ins and outs of the swamp.
My concern was that there'd be a mutiny planned at this meeting. I didn't really want to go, but I decided that if I went and they were going to try and plan something, I could at least give him a heads up.
The meeting was yesterday morning at 8:30. Yes. 8:30 in the morning. We were going to meet at a local breakfast joint and yak about whatever they were going to yak about.
So. . . before I left the driveway I asked the Lord to help me out. Help me say what needed to be said if anything needed said, and if I needed to keep my mouth shut to help me do that. I basically just asked for help. I get to the restaurant, order some hot tea, and people are chatting and it's about 8 of us. We were waiting for two of those 8 to arrive when lo and behold. . .guess who shows up. Our new county chair. You should have seen the looks on a couple of their faces. I was rolling on the floor laughing on the inside and thanking the good Lord.
The meeting ended up being just a vent of frustrations over the committeemen wanting to get the ball rolling on some things. I don't know who invited him, or if he just happened to be there, but I'm sure glad he showed up. Man, thank the Lord.
After the meeting was over, I picked up some meds for Mom and headed home.
Supper was my own concoction. Philly Cheesesteak sliders. They were pretty good, if I do say so. Out of 12 sliders, only 3 remain. They're in a bag in the fridge.
Today, I'm not sure what I'll be doing. It's my official day off. Oops. It's time to feed the fishies. Be right back.
Okay. Where was I? Oh. My agenda for today. Well, I'm going to balance ledgers. I need to wash my hair. Make sure the fish are fed. We had a candle burning yesterday for some fragrance in the house, and I forgot to blow it out last night. I was the first to go to bed, so you'd think Pop would blow it out. Nope. It was still going this morning. Thank the Lord our house didn't catch on fire! Our side door was still open, too, so there's that.
Dinner tomorrow is going to be beef tenderloin with carrots and mashed potatoes. That's the plan, at least.
I may work on my curtain or sock today. Maybe a bit of both. We'll see.
That's all I have for now, peeps. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.
