We love Purim here at The IN SEASON Lifestyle blog. What could seem more significant at this time? The lessons of Purim reveal so much to us.
It is almost time for Purim celebrations to begin!
For 2023 Purim starts on Monday, March 6th at sundown and lasts until Tuesday, March 7th at sundown. Are your ready to throw your Purim celebration yet?
What are your plans?
Over the years we have published so many articles about Purim.
You know the most important part of this holiday begins with the reading of the story of Esther. This blog has its own telling of the story. Most years we read this one together, and as we call out the names of each character the people in the room have to respond to all the names in a certain way.
Those who respond right get points. The one with the most points at the end of the story wins a prize. My granddaughter LOVES this game. She wants to tell the story all year long.
Here is the story we use at our house:

It certainly appears that we have had a lot of thoughts about celebrating Purim. Other customs seem to have evolved from this day too.
We hope these articles help you to have the best celebration ever.
Bringing things up to the present days of our own times, let's all remember that Purim is about doing what we need to do to defend our rights to exist as a people of God.
Enjoy the fun and games and the delicious treats; but always remember that Our Creator gave each person certain rights. You were born with the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
The first amendment to America's Constitution takes this right further with these words: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Esther certainly stood up to the King and addressed the grievances of her people. In doing so she saved a nation who produced our Messiah. Where would we be today if this had not happened?
It is certainly something to consider as we remember the way that God delivered Israel once again.
If such provision was made for Israel; will God not do it for America too?
Enjoy your Christian Purim celebrations!
Let your petitions to God be known as you remember what true nobility is all about. Ask God to bring this trait back to our country; just as He did for Israel in olden times of trials and tribulations.
