With Small Business Saturday just around the corner on 3rd December, shopping destination centre:mk is celebrating their much-valued small businesses and independent traders that have called the centre their home.
Those looking for extra special Christmas gifts, unique homewares, or local handmade goods will find centre:mk is the place to visit.
At centre:mk, small businesses such as family-run confectioners, Mr Simms, The Watch & Clock Shop, and Braids Barbers all sit comfortably and proudly beside the larger retailers and have access to the same retailer support and marketing opportunities that the centre provides.
Located in Middleton Hall is Love Local, an innovative hub for small businesses. They showcase a wonderful collection of local artisan craftspeople and stock fantastic ranges at price points to suit all budgets.
Also in Middleton Hall, outside John Lewis & Partners is the delightfully festive Christmas Fair featuring cabins where independent artisans and traders will display their wares right up to Christmas Eve. Top products include beautiful watercolour paintings, intricate handmade jewellery and sparking gemstones.
Local traders also make use of pop-up space in the mall. Love Leaf Houseplants have a kiosk in Midsummer Arcade selling a wide range of beautiful plants and succulents, perfect for those wanting to bring a little more greenery into their homes.
The Street Food Market found in Queen's Court has a wide array of independent food vendors offering a whole host of delicious treats including shawarma, pad thai and bratwurst.
Centre Director Kevin Duffy said, "As well as having an incredible line up of high street stores and restaurants, we are proud to be able to support independent retailers, who we feel really bring something different and unique to centre:mk. We feel that supporting small businesses is so important and it really enhances the overall shopping experience for our visitors."
Small Business Saturday is perfectly placed during the festive shopping period. Encouraging shoppers to support smaller traders for their Christmas gifting, gives small businesses a slice of that Christmas revenue and raises awareness of their business. Then, the lucky recipients of those special, handmade gifts might keep those stores in mind when shopping the rest of the year.
