Ricceri Ceramica (Florence) This small shop on a side street off the Piazza del Duomo is packed with handsome pieces all superbly handcrafted. You will find the popular designed ceramics like the Florentine Iris and sunflowers, but in a fresher interpretation that will set them apart from the ceramics in many tourists shops. There are also some more unique pretty designs and colour patterns to choose from. The owner is happy to ship so you can indulge in those bigger pieces like one of those fat jugs. And if yoou can't get to Florence at the moment you can find them online at riccericeramica.com
La Ricerca (Venice) This little shop at the foot of a small bridge (on the walk from St. Mark's Square to the Gritti Palace hotel) has always been a favourite of mine as it is packed with select Venetian handcrafts from marble paper products to small glass objects to art prints. It is a perfect place to pick up unique gifts or get yourself a new marbled paper photo frame. https://www.laricerca.it/
MIO (Florence) If you are a big fan of Florence's street art then stop by this shop right off the Via Tornabuoni. Blub, Clet, and Ledeisis are all featured here, Blub being the most prominent. You can buy some of his famed pieces on canvas or fun little gifts of mugs and magnets with his popular art on them. https://www.mio-concept.com/
AquaFlor (Florence) Perfume and home fragrance always make a reliable and well liked gift. And while there are hundreds of fragrances to choose from getting something from AquaFlor is not only unique but something not found in every store in the world. If you are not sure about a personal fragrance you can always choose from their home fragrance collection with either a candle or room diffuser. https://www.aquaflor.it/en
La Maison Ivre (Paris) This delightful little shop in Paris' Saint Germain des Pres brings a bit of Provence to the Left Bank. Not far from Cafe de Flor, it is filled with charm in the form of country style ceramics and homewares. Their best selection being their Provencal fabric bags, tablecloths and tea towels. https://www.maison-ivre.com/en/
