Metamorphosis, paper collage, 2022
My collage practice, as you may already know, is my sanctuary. It is where I go to relax, to play, to immerse myself in surreal, fantastical worlds.
But, every once in awhile, I end up creating a collage that inexplicably causes me anxiety. I like it; I don't like it. It's finished; it's not finished. It's too much; it's not enough.
Metamorphosis is definitely one of those collages. I created it for a renaissance-themed exhibition, hence the use of Raphael's Madonna del Prato. I'll let you know if she's accepted. In the meantime, feel free to enjoy her...hopefully without anxiety.
Also, I have some exciting news! I closed my Etsy shop and opened a new store using Shopify. There is a permanent link to the new shop in the header on this site, and those of you who follow me on Instagram will probably start seeing product links appear in my profile soon.
