In response to my attached message of January 22, I have received the following message from an outstanding and reliable Asian expert.

<I think Amb Mitsuhei Murata is right in seizing the moment to create space for renewables by encouraging France to take this opportunity to move away from nuclear energy permanently. Japan is. So is Germany. The EU, unfortunately, still recognises nuclear energy as 'green', which is to accommodate states like France that depend hugely on it. By itself, France would have found it politically difficult to ditch its dependence on nuclear energy. So, this might be a way.

Am not sure his efforts will succeed. There is an election in France round the corner. Much will depend on how that plays out, but it is important to make noise on it n be heard?>

Concerning the problematic French plan of developing seriously defective small-size nuclear reactors, the honor of France is certainly at stake. It is undeniably a matter of ethics.

Subject: French departure from the reprocessing nuclear waste.

According to the attached information, France has started envisaging the departure from the reprocessing nuclear waste.

This important news will influence the problematic French plan of developing small-size nuclear reactors. Serious leakage of radioactivity

emanating from these is already widely reported.

Former Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi is strongly against the EU's position to allow nuclear reactors to subsist, giving as an excuse the shortage of energy

arising from carbon neutral policy .

Five Japanese former Prime Ministers will make a joint declaration to this effect very soon.

Japanese civil society highly appreciates the holding of the "World Ethics Forum" next August in Pontresina, Switzerland.

I am looking forward to participating in the Forum which could hopefully promote the UN Ethics Summit.
