Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. It's not a bad morning here. I have coffee, I just enjoyed a pumpkin donut, and it's 63°. Our high today will be 86° with a 10% chance of rain.
Yesterday was a bit of a bum day. I didn't do much but I did manage to get Gracie's food ordered. I also ordered her flea stuff as well. I also watered the plants and the cucumber plant as well. It's really doing fantastic!
My trick or treat stuff came in yesterday afternoon, so I went ahead and put the bags together. Some of you may be thinking, I thought Christians didn't celebrate Halloween. Well, yes and no. This is a very controversial topic within the Christian church, but there are typically three camps you can fall into.
Camp #1 is the camp where Christians don't celebrate Halloween at all, and if you do, then your salvation comes into question.
Camp #2 is the polar opposite of Camp #1. Camp #2 goes all out with decorations, creepy music, tarot card readings (sometimes) and sometimes they even break out a Ouija board.
This leaves the last camp. Camp #3. This camp falls somewhere in the middle of the first two. There's usually some sort of participation, but not to the level of Camp #2. Camp #3 gives candy out, maybe goes to a local trunk-or-treat or other local trick-or-treat event. There may be scary movies involved, but their tasteful, but there is no occult involvement at all. So where do I fall? Well, I'm more of a Camp#3 person. I don't condone the use of tarot cards, horoscope readings or the use of a Ouija board, but I don't see a problem in dressing up as a non-scary character and handing candy out to kids. I do love scary movies, but I watch scary stuff throughout the year. Halloween is the only day where I binge watch scary movies all day. Also, the scary movies I watch are on TCM (Turner Classic Movies). I don't go for the Rob Zombie or Michael Myers or Jason movies. Not my scene. I'm more of a Vincent Price, Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi girl. Emphasis on Vincent Price.
Another movie I love is The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, starring Don Knotts. Oh my goodness, that movie is hilarious! Arsenic and Old Lace is another favorite of mine as well.
Everyone is entitled to your opinion. I was watching a video yesterday of some Christians who are in the Camp #1. While I disagree with them, I still respect them. The Lord knows the heart, and if He is convicting someone about the Halloween thing, then it's conviction on them, the person, not the whole of humanity. The Bible is clear, though, to stay away from witchcraft and not to participate in it. I've had no conviction on my part that dressing like a bumblebee and giving candy out is participation in occult activity, so I'm gonna keep doing it.
Anyhoo. That ramble turned out way different than I started. . Leave it to me. Oh well. Today is grocery list making day, getting the trash out day, and cleaning Gracie's fountain day. She is currently stretched out on my bed taking her morning snooze. I have a video on of a campfire near a stream in the winter. You can hear the fire crackling and the water flowing and the snow is falling. It's quite relaxing.
That is one relaxed cat! I guess I won't be making my bed any time soon.
That's all for now, folks. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.
