Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. It's going to be another warm day today, but a couple of degrees cooler than yesterday. Our high is expected to be 86* with 0% chance of rain.
As the title suggests, we are adding to the crew today. Pop is on his way home. That means he's out of a job, but at least he can get some rest and gear up for whatever his next adventure will be. As it happens, tonight is taco night, so he'll be thrilled about that. This week we're also having sausage hash, so there will probably be no leftovers from that one. The last time he was here, I made the hash twice and both times he cleaned that skillet out!
Since Pop is on his way, I had to move his SUV out of the driveway to make room for the RV. I'll have to move my car later as well, but I wanted to deal with his car first. I wasn't sure if it would actually start but it roared to life on the first try! Thank You, Jesus! I took it for a spin around the block, too, to get the engine warmed up a bit.
I did a little work on the sock yesterday. I managed to add another inch to the foot. I'm now one inch from starting on the toe. I had to stop, though, because my joints started aching.
The herb garden is doing half well. Meaning, half my herbs are doing great, and the other half not so much. The basil, sage and parsley look wonderful and the smells coming from them are delightful! The basil makes me think of pizza, but then when I smell the sage I think of Thanksgiving turkey. Which reminds me. I need to start looking for good turkey recipes. I'd like to try and smoke it on the grill this year. Leave the oven open for sweet potatoes and other delightful goodies.
Oh! I totally spaced. I found a picture of the steak sauce I used for the meatloaf this past Sunday. Here it is.
This steak sauce is pretty good! Not my A.1., but it'll do in a pinch. It's a bit sweeter than I like a steak sauce to be, but it worked beautifully for the meatloaf topping. For some reason, I was thinking it was more the Heinz 57 color, but I was way off.
Anyhoo. That's all I have for now, folks. I need to shower and figure out what needs to be done today. Pop will probably be in sometime after 2:00, so I only have a few hours to get something done. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.
