Just to clarify, both vaccines as well as Johnson & Johnson's vaccine all have Emergency Use Authorization in the U.S. right now.
Here's an overview of the differences:
The vaccines were given Emergenecy Use Authorization (EUA) in response to the ongoing Pandemic in progress last December after undergoing months of clinical trials. The biggest difference between EUA and FDA approval is EUA is temporary. Pfizer and Moderna seeking FDA Approval means they were probably told or know the EUA they current;y have is going to expire soon.
This is in addition to both companies announcing they have begun clinical trials for vaccine boosters. The participants are all people who were fully vaccinated already. Many believe COVID-19 may be an annual thing like the Flu and this is why. The other reason for these new trials is to see if people can wait longer between the 2-shot vaccines.
A third study being done is to find out if people can mix and match vaccine doses. By that I mean someone getting the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine for the first shot and then getting the other for the second. People have already been doing this but the extra study is just to see if there is any impact from someone who gets one or the other for both shots.
Before I change topics, I want to take a moment to address those who are unvaccinated by choice for non-medical reasons and are concerned by the inevitable COVID-19 vaccine mandates to come: You're only hurting yourself and those who can't be vaccinated for medical reasons in the end. I'm just gonna put it like that at this point. When you are planning to visit certain countries, you need to make sure you are vaccinated against certain diseases before you go. Not just so you don't get sick yourself. You could get infected with something and be Asympthomatic while overseas, return home and infect other people.
The rest of the world is WELL aware of how much this pandemic, mask wearing and vaccines were politicized in the U.S. and no doubt they want to make sure Americans who visit are either vaccinated or don't have the Corona Virus in their system. While there definitely will not be a "Vaccine Passport" in the US., those who are fully vaccinated would be good to carry proof of vaccination in their wallets moving forward so they can presented where needed.
Domestically, states that have relaxed their child vaccination requirements for public schools in recent years have been revisiting that in the aftermath of the pandemic. They relaxed the rules because no one believed something like COVID-19 would happen. This is EXACTLY why vaccination is do damned important. You can also be damned sure we will not be waiting another 100 years for the next Pandemic either.
Before I forget. The reason the vaccines are free in the U.S. is because the U.S. Government paid for them. At this point, the U.S. now has a surplus of vaccines that is only going to grow in the coming months due to Vaccine Hesitency. While Corporate Media is pushing the "Red States vs. Blue States" narrative, it's a lot more complicated than that and they know it. The REAL problem is a uniquely American one: Distrust of authority figures in general and more so when they say things you either don't like or disagree with.
These days, people want those they rely on for information to only share or express the same views and opinions as them. People are not as willing to listen to people who hold other views as in years' past. The biggest reasoning is because unlike in years' past it much easier for people to only listen to echo chambers thanks to the internet and social media.
Instead of learning for themselves, people are going by what they hear or read a so-called "expert" who claim to know more than the actual people involved and people who literally spent their lives on these matters. There is no knowledge deficiency or a lack of access to said knowledge. It's willful ignorance at the end of the day.
I have no idea how these so-called "experts" who've weaponized fear for literally decades to push their anti-vaccine rhetoric even more so over the last 18 months can live with themselves knowing deep down vaccines are why the human race hasn't been wiped out diseases by now.
The only possible explaination I can think of--but obviously can't prove so consider what I'm about to say nothing more than speculation on my part--is they have an anti-life agenda. It's actually also terrorism as they have inspired people to vandalize vaccination sites and even some who work in medical centers to destroy vaccine doses. It's happening more than is being reported. And they're proud of it.
There are a lot of people out there who feel the world is overpopulated and want to see a mass die of weather all at once or over a period of time. The world Population was 2 Billion in 1930 and is now 8.1 Billion. 1900s saw Medical Science improve more than any other era in human history is why. Vaccines eradicated diseases that routinely killed millions worldwide.
We have seen the emergence of the Anti-Vaxx Community over the last 20 years not long after the world population closed in on 7 Billion. That's no coincidence. The real conspiracy here is they have an anti-life agenda. They want to get as many people to not get vaccinated as possible in an effort for those millions of deaths to once common illnesses like Polio, Smallpox, Measles and Whooping Cough that used to happen annually to start happening again.
Sadly, we have already started seeing spikes in deaths areas of the U.S. and Canada where the Anti-Vaxx Community's influence is strong just before the Pandemic spread across the world. They are preying on the government distrust that ramped up over the last 5 years that's made it easier for them to to convince more and more people not to get vaccinated.
That brings me to the mRNA Medical Technology itself.
Contrary to what conspiracy theorists and skeptics who don't give a damn about the actual details think, the tech is NOT new. Any medical expert claiming it's new or experimental is misinformed or doesn't know the facts.
I actually first heard about mRNA technology back in 2010 as a possible means of rapidly developing vaccines and other treatments. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, which are both mRNA vaccines marked the first time the first time this tech was used. Advocates are no doubt very pleased to say the least.
I'll simplify this chart further by putting it like this:
- An mRNA sequence containing a spike protein for the target pathogen--in this case from the Corona Virus--is synthetically created.
- Information on the Spike Protein as well as how to deal with is are what make up the vaccine.
- After being injected, cells read the interformation in the mRNA and produces millions of copies of the spike protein. Your DNA is not changed or altered as some allege. The mRNA contains information that tells the cells in your body what it needs to do. It does not change anything in your body.
- The protein fragments trigger your body's immune system to wipe out the spike proteins and create antibodies. When the real thing enters your body, your immune system already knows how to deal with it.
It's now been proven that mRNA vaccines are not only much safer but faster than traditional vaccines for two reasons. One is since the spike protein is synthetic, scientists do not need to culture a weakened or dead version of the actual pathogen to make the vaccine. The other reason is while a traditional vaccine relies on the body finding and responding to the dead or weakened pathogen, the mRNA vaccines stimulate the body's immune system by feeding it spike proteins.
There is no risk of the tech stimulating the body into attacking healthy cells as some healthcare workers and "rogue" or "expert" doctors allege because the body already has safeguards in place that prevent its own immune system from doing just that. That's all the mRNA Tech is being used for in these vaccines. There are no secret instructions embedded to kill everyone who's been vaccinated in two years as some "experts" claim with no proof or evidence backed by fact or research. Those who keep saying things like that want to keep those who they know are distrustful of authority figures and believe anything they think is plausible from getting vaccinated and worse.
By the way the way, "m" is mRNA stands for "messenger" and it is actually a naturally occurring process inside the body. That's basic biology. The mRNA Tech involves giving special instructions to the body's immune system by telling immune system what it needs to fight and how to fight it but showing it. Traditional vaccines only do the second. of those three things.
I'll put it like this: mRNA Tech is the future.
The reason there is so much excitement within the medical community and medical researchers is now they know for sure the tech not only works and is effective is but they can now think about using the tech for other things.
An AIDS vaccine was developed about 5 years ago and has been available for about three years now. It's available as either 3-pill vaccine or a 2-shot vaccine. Those vaccines took almost 20 years to develop. With the mRNA Tech, they can probably scale it down to a 1-shot vaccine as well as develop effective therapeutics with little to no side effects like current treatments have.
There is already talk of developing vaccines for various types of cancers as well. There is also hope improved gene therapy techniques can be developed. Imagine mRNA treatments that can direct cells to regenerate damaged organs, tissue or bones. That's exactly what this new tech is potentially capable of.
This new tech is not to be feared but should be welcomed and celebrated because of the many doors it will open. Certain ethical barriers that were common concerns for decades don't apply to this tech because we are talking about someone's own body being taught to better maintain itself. We could also see the elimination of certain routine medical procedures or medical tests over time as well. This is something everyone should be following very closely in the years to come.
