Hello everybody and welcome to another blogpost from Online Marketing 4 Life. My objective is to provide value and help you implement what you receive. Okay...this time last week the temperature was 80 degrees (26 degrees Celsius) and summer was here in full swing until this current weekend. Ironically, this weekend is the unofficial start to summer here in the USA. Unfortunately not with temperatures of 46 degrees (8 degrees Celsius). The frigid ocean temperature is warmer than the air for crying out loud. Not to worry, the warmer weather will be back this week. It's funny because the seasons never change, the summer is hot and the winter is cold. However, the weather can fluctuate in temperature, precipitation and has a certain relativity to it. We must not overreact to the weather just like we must not panic with the stock market and real estate ratios. We must control what is in our power and the rest we can say a prayer...like Jesus.
So this week's message may appear to be a bit non-secular but I feel that it is all encompassing to affiliate marketers out there. There is a valuable book I read on affiliate marketing. So valuable in fact that I keep referring to its concepts from time to time. The book is titled The Iceberg Effect by Dean Holland. This book has enabled me to form a solid foundation to build my affiliate marketing upon. Although this week's blog title is a bit satirical, a good case can be made for Jesus as the original affiliate marketer. I will give you a proven concept in the book to illustrate how you can succeed in affiliate marketing just by following four simple guidelines.
The Four Core Areas of Focus: they are simply...
Core focus #1: Traffic
Core focus #2: Capture
Core focus #3: Follow-up
Core focus #4: Sales System
These 4 core areas of focus, if learned as well as implemented will earn you a lot of income as well as fortified relationships. Let's begin with the first one: Traffic. Simply put, traffic involves all of the people out there that you want to market to. Essentially it is your audience. Jesus had an audience but they did not flock to Him initially. He had to go out in the world and seek them. As a matter of fact, he sought out the 12 apostles to follow him. Just like affiliate marketers, Jesus had to create an audience. He would go from town to town and enter the synagogue and teach. He did this consistently and tactfully. Therefore, we too must gather and attract traffic just like Jesus. However, we have it a bit easier to be able to accomplish this from the comfort of using a computer. Establishing traffic from Facebook Groups, Forums, YouTube and various other forms are ways to create traffic sources.
Core focus #2: Capture. Once the traffic is established, we must have a mechanism to capture these said individuals. Jesus told some of His apostles that were fisherman to follow Him and he will make them fishers-of-men. Jesus was very charismatic and full of energy and people were attracted to that but also His teaching of love, mercy and being glorified one day in heaven. We as affiliate marketers need to capture information from our audience. Gathering an email address or having a social media relationship is a good way to start. In order to capture information from various traffic sources, we must have a solid message and offer. This brings traffic more or less into our control.
Core focus #3: Follow-up. This is a very critical task when it comes to attracting folks. Following up with our audience is how we build trust and rapport. Not to mention someone rarely buys from the initial contact. You see, Jesus constantly followed-up with His audience. Jesus would teach in parables which provided a message that many people could relate to. The message I'm referring to is "the offer" and whatever that was. In Jesus' case that offer was salvation. The offer for an affiliate marketer could vary from health, wealth or relationships. The point is having an autoresponder to follow-up is essential to the whole process. Providing folks with a value added message every so often helps solidify and adds value to the relationship.
Core focus #4: Sales System. This is the last and very important step of The Four Core Areas of Focus. With this step you will be making sales offers. There is no point in gathering traffic and capturing their info if you have nothing to promote. Jesus had a solid offer that holds true today and if we buy into His message then salvation awaits us. For us affiliate marketers, we must make offers that we believe in and not just make offers for a sale. When you have passion about something and promote it, that passion should come across more than the sales pitch. As Jesus said in one of His infamous proclamations...all those that have thirst come to me and all those that believe in me drink. It's important for us affiliate marketers to have our audience 'drink' (believe) what we offer.
Okay folks...there you have it. Just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to The Four Core Areas of Focus. Once you have these methods from the book engrained into your mind as well as soul, they become alive and the sales process becomes more natural. It's important to know that learning something is different than having the information become part of your psyche. It takes a bit of time to learn and grow with anything new but with steadfast consistency success is just around the corner.
